Kym Stanhope

Creativity is a part of my daily life. I draw and paint on a daily basis, taking inspiration from my immediate natural environment and the people around me. I have focused on having a solid foundation with drawing in charcoal, pencil and ink, and am cultivating an expressionist style. My work at last year’s MAT focused on the communication between trees, and humans’ vibrational connection to land – and I would like to continue on these themes in my abstract works, as well as smaller, more subtle multi-media works on paper. I’m continuing to work on bringing fiber into my practice, and have an interest in traditional weaving techniques.
