Hung out to dry.by Heather Stevenson
Our personal lives are, generally speaking, private ones, known only to oneself and those close to us. This year's MAT theme has allowed me the opportunity to creatively explore and publically express this private kingdom, this externally-unknowable existence, of my own personal life. What things give me comfort? What enrages me? What ideas occupy my time? What needs do I have? What questions do I ask? I work primarily in marble, stone, smalti and glass - hard, uncompromising elements. I like to play with the tension between the definitive solid and the fluid sculptural possibilities.
