Casey Arnaud

Embracing materiality, my practice nurtures surface, texture and the physicality of paint whilst exploring themes of memory, vulnerability, and temporality embedded in landscape. Experiences are communicated through material. Painted form expresses a sense of place: not the detail of the terrain, but the memories of feelings. Nostalgia. Stillness. With a focus on abstraction I explore sensitive surfaces with loose rhythmic lines, muted colours and mark making, highlighting the delicate relationships and connections between forms and layers. Murwillumbah based artist Casey Arnaud is a 2017 BSA graduate.
