I am an artist and an author with a passion for finding the beautiful in the everyday – in the small things that go unnoticed. My artworks revolve around fleeting moments and the minutiae of the natural world and are based on the cycles and transience of life. I am fascinated with the paradoxical fragility and strength of nature and aim to capture this in my artworks using natural mediums such as wood and slate. I am a children’s book author/illustrator and was also the Executive Director of the Lester Prize for 10 years and in 2023 was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia for my contribution to the arts. I was recently commissioned to create artworks for the new Tweed Valley Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
